SUPPLEMENT TO RECENT TWO OF PENTACLES POST

OK, I guess I have to embrace it. I'm truly getting old. Although I clearly recall going through all my notes for anything I had on the Two of Pentacles before I made a recent previous post, I just unearthed several more thoughts about it in my folder of notes. And this is an appropriate point to share an unusual version of this card. Below is the Two of Pentacles in the Gothic Tarot of the Vampires:
What feels particularly relevant for me today in this rendering is the reflective (pun intended) balance between youth and age. I may be only months away from 70, but truly don't feel any particular age at all inside where arthritis and wrinkles (and memory glitches) hold no sway. Of course, the outside realm of physicality is aging, in no uncertain way. The challenge is to keep on stretching and dancing in those ways that I can, honoring both inner and outer.

I also want to share below one more Two of Pentacles before going on to those additional meanings found in my notes -- from
The Complete Tarot Kit
:

It has a lightness and freedom to it. I think that "wand" the figure holds may represent what a juggler uses to keep plates and other objects spinning and trading places in the air. However, I always see it as a bubble blowing pipe, and the two pentacles as the bubbles. One way of understanding the delicate, awesome balance we live in from moment to moment.

ADDITIONAL MEANINGS/INSIGHTS/READINGS FOR THE TWO OF PENTACLES, SOME LESS COMMON OR EVEN QUIRKY (Please note: The below is intended to supplement previous posts here about this card; a quick google will produce a wider variety of takes should you not be familiar with it.):

Menopausal issues ("The Change" "Change of Life").

Feeling out of balance. If bodily, be sure to eat right and do exercises (especially those that strengthen your ability to balance). If emotionally/mentally, give the unbalance time to be fully conscious, maybe try journaling about it.

Resistance to changes in the offing, by playing around with familiar old patterns of behavior.

No matter how long you dance with this possibility, it's not going to happen. Conversely, no matter how well and creatively you dance around, you still have to do this unwelcome task.

If you'd like things to change identify the conflicting messages you are putting out, then choose a stance and take it.

If you want to stop feeling confused, make a choice and go for it.

Enjoy this brief rest in which containing form and edge-testing motion are balanced.

A dynamic balancing of the imaginative and the concrete.

Balancing the needs of the present and the future (thanks to the Gothic Tarot of the Vampires -- see image at top of this post -- in which the two figures are said to be present and future).

Especially as one gets older physically, one's inside life and outer one match up less and less. The challenge is to enjoy the dance of the "eternal" inner space with the outer's temporality.

After drafting this post and letting it settle a bit, I was put in mind of the Cyndi Lauper song Time After Time. Especially these lines: "If you're lost you can look and you will find me // Time after time // If you fall I will catch you I'll be waiting // Time after time." The inquiry these lyrics left me with is clearly Buddhist influenced. (I've just finished a helpful, very nicely written and organized book by Toni Bernhard, "How to Wake Up.") And that question: Who is it then who balances and catches?

'til next time, keep enjoying The Tarot, in whatever ways it comes to you in your life,
